Am 12. März 2006 wurde die erste Version von Contao, bis 2010 als TYPOlight bekannt, veröffentlicht und gilt bis heute als der Geburtstag von Contao.

Wer hatte das gedacht … erste genutzte Version Typolight 1.0.4 … wie die Zeit vergeht. Gratulation zum 10. Jubiläum.

TYPOlight content management framework

1. What is TYPOlight?
=====================

TYPOlight is an open source content management framework developed by Leo
Feyer and distributed under the GPL license (see LICENSE.txt for more
information). It has an open API that allows everyone to extend the system
to fit his needs. TYPOlight specializes in accessible websites and is
accessbile itself (fronend and backend!) using XHTML and CSS to build pages.

2. System requirements
=========================

- Apache Webserver (recommended) or IIS
- PHP5 (TYPOlight will not run with PHP4!)
- MySQL database
- PHP extension GDLib (images and graphics)
- PHP extension mbstring (multibyte character handling)
- PHP extension mcrypt (data encryption)
- PHP extension dom (XML support)
- PHP extension zlib
- PHP extension curl

3. Installation
===============

a. Download a TYPOlight package from http://www.typolight.com and unpack
it on your webserver.

b. Open a web browser (IE, Firefox or Netscape recommended) and go to
http://yoursite.com/typolight/install.php

c. Initial password: typolight

d. Follow the instructions of the install tool and make sure to change
the initial password!

4. How to access the backend (administration area)

Open a webbrowser and add /typolight to the URL of your website (e.g.
http://www.yoursite.com/typolight)

5. Troubleshooting
==================

If you are having problems installing or using TYPOlight, please visit
http://www.typolight.com or https://contao.org and read the
available documentation or post your question in the forum.

include information on your server environement and the TYPOlight
