uppercase in gallery description

I recently start using the "gallery_description" module. This give me
the opportunity to add a title and text to each image separately.Everything worked well until I encountered problems with uploading images containing an uppercase name or extension.
When adding images to my gallery selection, previous selected images, containing uppercase, are remove from my selection.
A second problem I have to deal with is that It is not possible anymore to jump in the lightbox from picture to picture.
Anyone have an idea how to solve this problems or where I have to look for?
