Using TypeKit with Contao ?
Hi ...
This may be the wrong forum, but I'm not sure what this involves, so forgive me for posting here:
I would like to try using Typekit (http://www.typekit.com) with a couple of my Contao sites, but I am not quite sure where to paste the code from TypeKit - or if there are more things I need to be aware of, before I head into this ...

Any feedback would be welcome.
Kind regards, Pino
Re: Using TypeKit with Contao ?
the web font loader extension should support typekit

Re: Using TypeKit with Contao ?
So, I have installed WebFontLoader, and I even got it hooked up with TypeKit. But I'm not too impressed by the quirky loading of the font/css. What do you (anyone) think might be the issue?
Is it due to slow fontservers or is it the CSS that delays and flickers?
I have noted, that the swirly font (Lobster) loads AFTER first displaying a serif AND a sans type :-/ Doesn't look good.

Re: Using TypeKit with Contao ?
I usually load my fonts directly from tl_files folder
So I can not help you with this issue, sorry

Your original question

I've not used it (or seen the code snippet) but I would guess you paste it into the document head via Page Layout:Additional <head> tags.
Also you can use Google fonts (which are entirely free and require no accreditation) http://www.google.com/webfonts by pasting the names of them directly into Page Layouts:Google Webfonts
Quote:
eg: Ubuntu|Ubuntu+Mono|Henny+Penny|Ewert
(pipe seperated and spaces replaced with +).
They then become available on pages of that layout - that is you just use the fontname in your css.
Quote:
eg: #nav_74 {font-family:"Henny Penny";} or #nav_74 {font-family:Ewert;}
(quotes around font names with spaces in them)
Seems fast and good to me, theres 500 of them at this point and growing.
You may know this already.

Thanks for your replies everybody! Really appreciate it.

ga.n I have installed the webfontloader extension, and I got it to work with typekit very fine indeed, apart from a seriously annoying delay in the loading of the font, resulting in a FOUT that I don't find pleasant at all. I then made a ttf-file and uploaded to the server, and made webfontloader handle the task of displaying the font. Now I'm rid of the FOUT, but I still have too much delay int the loading of the font.
You can see the condensed type in the main struture of the menu here: http://www.plasque.com
I'm suspecting webfontloader to be the cause of the delay, but I can't be sure.
What do you do to make a type load fast and seamless?
Kind regards, Pino
Re: Using TypeKit with Contao ?
Try google webfonts. It is integrated into Contao. See if that also gives you a lag. If not, the wefontloader may be slow for some reason. Otherwise I have no clue.
