TYPOlight2Go for Windows

Hi folks ;-)

I would like to present you a portable TYPOlight. In the german forum, i have made an explanation, howto setup quickly a working WAMP Server in 5 minutes. (http://www.typolight-community.de/showt ... ges-System)

Additionally i have prepared a selfexpanding ZIP File, within all combined.

Just downloading, extracting and starting server2go.exe . This is a portable installation, therefor, you can copy the directory on a USB Stick and work wherever you are.

There is a MusicAcademy installed, with all standard accounts. URL rewriting is active.
For the install.php the password is : TYPOlight2Go

When would I use server2go AND the music academy? For as far as I tell server2go is best suited for computers on which you need a temporary server. I can't see myself developing always taking everything with me on usb (though on my phone would be nice). Nevertheless, I don't know anyone who has ever seriously created a website on just any computer he/she came across. I do not know anything about the stability or performance of server2go, but I still would lean towards using xampp. Can you clear this up for me?

Then the music academy; wouldn't it be a better idea to provide a clean installation something like offered in Clean setup. The music academy is already an online demo. You can refer people to the online demo to see how to set up additional parts.

If you'd use virtual hosts, then that makes development looks nicer. I always use http://thedomain.tl for http://thedomain.com and so on. Here is a tutorial: http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/apache22_vhosts.php

i try my best to give you informations...
lindsbs is away for 2 weeks, so he has no time to answer you.

Server2go is for People when they start to look at TL. More and more People come and can't make her own lokal Server with Xampp ore Mamp etc. So now they can play with TL in a short time. The online Demo is nice, but sometimes it's broken ore something else... and you can play, but you cannot save it for yourselve.

And when i understud lindesbs right, there will come more in a time. Than you will see why this is so great ;)

Not to be disrespectful towards anybody or anything, but I think that as long as there is no good theme archive ready to use for TL then it is best to have people use TL who are also able to set up a server. The knowledge needed to setup TL and make an OK website with it isn't exactly on a university level so to speak, but it is at least somewhat advanced. Just to be able go beyond the music academy theme takes html, css and some php knowledge as well as the knowledge of the internal structure of TL. ;)

This is not the place to discus themes, but there should be a repository with some themes available. I offered to make one if someone else provides me with a design (one that can be used for different types of organisations). But up to know I haven't received any design.... First themes, then beginners?

Some people in the german forum start making more Themes.
With contao 2.9 and the theme manager it would be realy make sence to start more themes in the extension repository.
So i think than more people start making something like that :)

Yes, it's not so hard to make a lokal system for tl... but some people are realy frustrated on this, because for them it's to hard XD
And: it's easyer to install TL on an webspace somewhere.. because normaly there is everything you need for that....

PS: Yes, it is the answer of live... meaning... everything ;-)
