Frontend user adding their "data" [SOLVED]
Hey,
I've got one project and I would be happy for some advice.
The webpage will be mainly about user adding their work experience, for non-work searchers. Of course the registration is needed.
Now I'm wondering how this can be done. Is there anyway to "transform" catalog so that can be used in frontend, by this I mean adding "articles" in catalog not in backend but in frontend and every particular "article" must belong to user who wrote it (user can correct their "article"). I'm asking for catalog because I will need sorting of "data" by categories somewhere in frontend.
Thanks and regards.
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
Yes - frontend editing is a feature of the catalog extension.
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
Thanks, for your answer and advice.
I will start doing on project in a day or two, and I will have some question later, cause I didn't done anything yet with contao frontend usage.
Regards.
W.
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
I've never worked with frontend editing in the catalog, but it seems really cool. Here's the forum for the extension, which has a lot of good resources: viewforum.php?f=27
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
Why catalog extension that is so much in use, still isn't compatible with version 2.9.1? Is there any serious problem with compatibility between those two?
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
There is no compatibility issue that I've noticed using Catalog 2beta with Contao 2.9.1.
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
But where did you find Catalog 2beta? If I go to my contao in extension catalog and choose filter or type Catalog, there is no Catalog itself only his "submodules". I can only find Catalog by choosing those submodules and than yet than select Catalog in their "Dependencies of this extension". Only I have such a problem?
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
There are 2 ways you can install it through the ER:
1.
Go to Settings > Extension repository
Check on "Show incompatible extensions
Go to Extension catalog and filter by the tag of Catalog
2.
Go to Extension manager
Click "Install extension" near the upper-right
Enter "catalog" in the textbox
Select the latest version and click continue
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
Ok thanks for that trick, I forgot to look about the catalog version when I've posted the above post. It is the same Catalog v2.0 :)
I've got some strange problem in "lost password" module. Even if I set "Confirmation page" redirection, when I confirm in email which I've recived from Contao it redirect me to the page where the "lost pass" form was and not to the page which i preferred.
Any idea what should be the problem?
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
Look carefully at the page that the email links to. I believe it will ask you to set a new password. Then, the resulting page is probably the confirmation page you set. This is from memory, so I may be wrong.
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
Yes but the "Confirmation page" should redirect me (when I click on the link in email, there is new password) to the page which I preferred but it redirects me to the page where I have set for "lost pass" module. The problem is that I have everything in fancybox, and now redirects me to blank template only with data "new pass".

How to make that user add their content via catalog?
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
These questions should be asked in this forum: viewforum.php?f=27

Done

Any clue about the Lost password issue?
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
2 things: You need to start a new thread for your lost password issue, and you should provide more details if you can. This is your first mention of fancybox, so we have no way knowing if the form is in it or on the page, etc.
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
Ok ... I've split this thread and created a new thread for your new questions, as they do not relate to the initial topic.
Re: Frontend user adding their "data"
ok :) you can still answer to it ;)
