Themes and Custom Layout sections

Hello to all,

I'm running into a question about the assignment of custom layout sections to themes. Currently I can define custom layout sections in the 'settings' entry of the contao backend, making the custom sections 'globally available' for all themes installed. I'm aware of the fact that I can create a template for each installed theme, however, I have the impression that it would be more convenient to define the custom layout sections with a 'per theme' based setting. Even if the custom layout sections were automatically assigned in the contao backend settings on import of a theme, over-viewing which one of them are referred from which theme is a bit confusing currently. Or am I missing something? Can anyone give me a hint?
