Avisota won't send emails

I love the Avisota newsletter system and so do my clients. The only problem is that I have never been able to get it to send out any email. None. I've tried setting up my personal smtp server, using localhost, or just leaving it at the default. I've tried setting up my smtp server under Settings, and still nothing. As much as I love Avisota, this failure to send out any email is a deal breaker. Unless I can fix it I won't be able to recommend it to my clients.

I'm using Contao 2.11.11 and php 5.2.17,

I was able to reach two developers on IRC and they talked me through this to a happy conclusion. I was impressed with their knowledge and dry wit. I ended up going to mandrillapp.com and using their smtp service, now everything works like a charm!
