Also an update issue
I also have some issues concerning an update(3.0.5->3.0.6) After hitting the "start update button ", I end up with a 404 page, saying that the following is not found:
The requested URL /home/p13277/domains/thecloudpeople.nl/public_html/contao/update.phar.php/index.php was not found on this server.
I don't know if it has any relation to the other topic about updates? My ID is sure to be valid, The Contao-check seems fine. Anyone any usefull suggestions?
Thnx Atti

Re: Also an update issue
When you see the error
Code:
The requested URL /home/p13277/domains/thecloudpeople.nl/public_html/contao/update.phar.php/index.php was not found on this server
Edit the url in your browser address field to something like this (add your real doman name in place of [yourdomain.tld])
Code:
http://[yourdomain.tld]/contao/update.phar.php/do=process
Then hit refresh and the page should load and update correctly. Worked for me.

Re: Also an update issue
I found a german thread with the same issue
https://community.contao.org/de/showthr ... LiveUpdate
they talk about also deleting the file "system/config/pathconfig.php"
I've updated my previous comment to the correct url like so
Code:
http://[yourdomain.tld]/contao/update.phar.php?do=process
Also, this isn't the same as the browser language issue.

Re: Also an update issue
Thnx for your reply Geung! Your last post brings me to a new window. Which says:
Live Update (v6.8)
Live Update protocol
Custom template files
Unrelated files
The last three lines behave like links, but do not do anything unfortunately. I'll have a look at the German thread :ugeek:

Re: Also an update issue
The German Thread war nicht erfolgreich für mich :(
If this information helps:
When I hit the Live update button I have a choice to update to version 3.0.6 or 2.11.11, both recommended btw :? The 2.11.11 update ends the same way as the 3.0.6. Just above the choice a line says :
"Database backup
The PHP functions exec() or shell_exec() are not available."
Could this have any relation to the problem??

Re: Also an update issue
Hi Atti,
No luck for you, too bad :(
I can only tell you what happend to me.
I reached this page and then got an error after pressing the start update button on this page.
[attachment=0:168anqyu]live_update.png[/attachment:168anqyu]
Within the error page, i changed the url to:
http://[yourdomain.tld]/contao/updat...php?do=process
fortunately it worked for me, maybe you have a different issue.
maybe you should use the Contao Check to see if it brings up any issues
https://github.com/contao/check
good luck

Re: Also an update issue
I made a request to my provider to activate the PHP functions exec() or shell_exec() part

Re: Also an update issue
Just great :( , my provider doesn't activate the PHP functions exec() or shell_exec() due to security reasons ... unless I switch from sharedhosting to a server :?
Is there any chance these necessary php settings in Contao will change to other more "common" ones? I could go for a manual installation or the Installtron version they provide in. I guess it's not necessary then to have these extensions enabled? Or is it still an issue?
If anyone can recommend me another provider for a fair (low :)) price?
