Keeping some records out of filter

Hello to everybody,
since Catalog (as far as I know) does not provide a front-end record deletion module I chose to use a flag field called "deleted". In all the modules I put the condition "deleted = 0" and I get just the items which have the flag set to false.

This works pretty fine except for filter modules: I don't have any "condition" field there and so I don't know how to filter out items which have been deleted. I still see in the filters all the records and, selecting a deleted one, catalog does not load any data (which is right because the "List" module has the deleted = 0 condition)

Obviously this becomes a serious problem once a lot of items will be deleted, since the users will see a list of 10 elements and maybe a filter of 20-30 elements.

You will find an fild 'use the condition from the lister on the same page' in the filter-module. When you klick this, it will do what you want.

The flag was already checked :cry:

When you realy use the svn-Version it should work fine with that.
Maybe you have missed something else?
Can you give me screenshots of the filter and list module of this page?

Ah, i think i have it. You must set the 'searchable' fields in the filter module. This is for the Fields wich should listen to a parameter in the url.. when you don't have one there it wont work... the bad thing about that: you will have an search box.. thats a missconfiiguration thinking of the developer... ^^

I couldn't make it work yet. This is what happens to me, which is quite odd in my opinion.

I have a previous release of catalog (v. 2.0.0 beta2 build 61, if I get it right) and I still see all the records, even if I check the "search fields" option.
I tried updating catalog via SVN. I extracted revision 391 and replaced all the extensions (catalog and dependencies) with the new SVN ones.
What happened? Magically I could see in the dropdown list just the elements I wanted to, so the "search field" trick worked. But... the filter does not filter anymore. Whatever option I choose from the dropdown lists the list is not filtered. This happens with and without the search option enabled, so I think it's a bug which does not happen because of that parameter. I replaced back the old catalog version (just catalog, not the dependencies, I kept the new ones) and everything works fine now, except that obviously I see all the records in the dropdown list.

So, this is the situation:
- Old catalog version: can filter but can't limit dropdown list to elements already filtered in the list
- New catalog version: I just see the records I want to see, but can't actually filter

Do you (or anybody who experienced the issue) have any suggestion about that?

I tried again, in another installation, to udpate to last catalog release (#391) and yet I could not get filter to work... do you know if there's something broken there?

Hmm i realy don't know why it is not working for you. OK, i have no 2.11.9 with an catalog at the moment..
