Difference contao 3.5... and 4.4... Which version to choose

Hi,

I would like to build a new website but which version should I choose? All available templates are in in 3.5x and 4.4.x version available so what would be the difference for choosing a specific version of Contao.

If you are new to Contao first simply chose both versions. Set up two installations and try it out. 4 is a bit more comfortable in BE and with more features and a modern PHP framework (symphony) in the core. Installation of 3 is easier to install and server requirements are not so high as in 4. Also in 3 you will get more extension. But you can switch to 4 from 3.5 if you want to. And also almost all 3.5 extension should be compatible to 4.

If you know how to build up a site in 3.5 you also will be fit in backend of 4.
