managed edition and symfony flex

Hi all!

I am getting into working with contao. I am very new to this, but I am a little confused about the future of the managed edition and how symfony flex plays into this.

it is my understanding that the long term goal is to integrate symfony flex and remove the distinction between standard and managed edition.

my question is: does this change anything about the way I should develop extensions? Symfony Flex has a rigid directory structure, should/can I use this for my manager plugins? Unfortunately the docs for contao 4 are still rather sparse

so I am trying to glean best practices before I get into a mess.
