Events Tag Cloud not working in Calendar

I have installed the tags, tags_events and calendar_events_plus extensions for my events calendar. Why can the events tag cloud filter an events list module (such as listing upcoming events in a certain category) but not filter the calendar module? I really need to be able to display events of a single category on the calendar when that category tag is selected. Thanks for your help.
