Re: Disable save mode hack?
You could probably give it FTP details for some working domain that you may have with a hosting provider. This might get you past this step.
Re: Disable save mode hack?
Correct me if I am wrong, but in the Contao install tool there is no option for giving ftp details. I am using the same setup, local laptop without an ftp server and I have never come acros this problem.
Re: Disable save mode hack?
There is at least with the newest version I downloaded a few days back.
It is already the first step.
Re: Disable save mode hack?
modir,
Since there is no FTP server but it's a local PHP install, I would adjust the PHP settings so that the SMH isn't required.
Re: Disable save mode hack?
It depends on what you are running the installation.
The most easy is to use a prebuilt package such as MAMP (Mac) or XAMPP (Windows), they work out of the box so that you dont need the SMH.
For individual configurations of Apache/MySQL/PHP you need to set things so that the user PHP scripts are runing as has full file permissoions (read/write/create/delete) to all files and directories of contao including the installation root.
Re: Disable save mode hack?
OK. Now we get to the point.
I have it running on my Fedora Linux laptop.
So, you are saying that the save mode hack form will disappear if I give enough permissions to some specific directories.
I will try.
Re: Disable save mode hack?
You may want to try the system check tool to help you out.
Re: Disable save mode hack?
OK. Thanks. This helped me.. I had to change some seLinux parameters.
It would be great if the installer would give some hints. Because it is not obvious that this screen appears because of some wrong configuration of the system.
Re: Disable save mode hack?
The system asks for FTP info because it is adapting to the server configuration. If you had an FTP server set up (as in the vast majority of installs), it wouldn't have really been an issue.
