catalog filters

hi,

I have created a catalog of case studies with a list and reader page, on the reader page i am showing 1 full case study then below i am trying to list 2 others from the catalog at random (i have done this using a featured module). i have managed to do this except in my featured list it sometimes shows the case study that is being shown in the reader is their a filter or another way i can stop is showing the case study in the featured list when it is on the reader?

You can rather use the Catalog Related, which will show OTHER (e.g. EXCEPT this one) catalog entries, where the conditions you've selected have to match, e.g. related DVDs, or Blu-rays, or some other common value. Otherwise, you can exclude the current catalog-item by using the catalog inserttags in the condition clause, e.g.

aliasfiels != {{catalog::aliasfield}}

the featured module will then replace the current catalog alias item with the inserttag and exclude it.

PS. Now I'm not sure about if it does this for the Featured module, but try it first.
