Default TinyMCE buttons and layout problems

One of our clients is running a site on Contao 2.9.4 upgraded from a much older version of Typolight.

Since the upgrade the TinyCME editor has been completely messed up.

    Here's how it looks:

I've tried overwriting the plugins/tinyMCE files and the config/tinyMCE.php with working versions from a fresh install of Contao, but neither seems to make any difference to the appearance of the editor.

I've noticed a lot of other people having problems with TinyMCE in these forums, but none like this.

Any idea what the problem is?

    hi
When you overwrite the folder "plugins/tinymce" have joined the files of two different versions of TinyMCE.
Delete the folder completely and install the folder of the 2.9.4

I overwrote the folder with the 2.9.4 version originally, not with a different version. All the files in the directory match a fresh install of Contao 2.9.4, but I'm still having issues.

Perhaps something is corrupted in the database, or I need to clear a cache?

I had the same problem too.
Versions of TinyMCE were different and files of this editor had mixed

Delete completely the TinyMCE folder and copy what is present in Contao 2.9.4

    Possibly overwrite files
    /system/config/tinyMCE.php
    /system/config/tinyFlash.php
    /system/config/tinyNews.php
