News list and news item on same page

Does anyone know how to make a news list and news reader on the same page?

I have seen several articles about this but they are quite confusing and so far I did not manage.

It would be great if someone could write down the steps, like:

1. In the Newsarchive set the Redirect page to...
2. Create a module Articles List, Articles Reader.
3. etc etc

I think I found out why I couldn't figure it out: it's not possible : )

Apparently you cannot use a News List and have it open a News Reader on the same page, you must use a News Archive and connect it with a News Reader module.

Correct me if I'm wrong?

What version are you using? I think it's a new feataure in newer versions to have a list and a reader on the same page.

It's easy

Just point the redirect page to the list page. Put the newsarchive and archive menu on the list page. You select the newsreader module in the newsarchive. Then you also have to enable auto_item in the settings.

Then you can do like I have here... Note there isn't a reader page at all.
