    Default Search form help

    Hi,

I'm having a few issues with the Search Engine module in Contao.

I have added the search form to a page, created a second page so the results can be shown, and have ensured that the "do not search" box isn't ticked on any pages.

When i search, the results page just shows the search box, and not any results.

    Page with Search box: http://www.tsphospitality.co.uk/tsp/index.php/test.html

Any help would be gratefully received,

    Thanks a lot! :D

    Hard to say. You should check;
    • Is there anything in the tables tl_search and tl_search_index? (No index->no results)[/*:m:2oycncsj]
    • Did you set a reference page?[/*:m:2oycncsj]
    • Check all settings for the module in the results page. Can you post them?[/*:m:2oycncsj]

I think I figured out what your problem may be! The form will not show results if a redirect page has been set. I found that when I had a search form in the header (that needs to redirect to the results page). The search form I copied and turned that into an advanced search form but didn't think of disabling the redirect page.

    Hello Ruud,

Am in the same dilema. Could I be missing out on something? I have placed the search form into the header. I have a page where results should be displayed. When I set the results page onto the search form, no results are displayed. When I disengage the redirected page, aka results page, search results are displayed on the search form.

How can I tell the search form to put the results elsewhere?

    Am using Contao 3.4.5.

    Regards,
    Simon.

I managed to figure it out.

After creating the search results page, I added a new element: the search results module I had created earlier under modules.

    All is well.

    Cheers,
    Simon.
