Minicalendar (Calendar Menu)

I have noticed that when going to a page which includes events and the Minicalendar (Calendar - Event list menu) it only shows events for the current day.

However, when going forward and back in the minicalendar (clicking next/prev) all events for the next/previous month are shown. After that clicking on one day selects events for this day only.

Is it possible to have the minicalendar start in the "show all events in this month state" as this would be much more convenient?

That is a setting of the calendar module called "Event list format". Are you the system admin? Otherwise that field may be switched off for you.
