Default Publishing first page as part of the installation

I created the root for the project, the first page, the layout, modules, a first article, I also uploaded a CSS file, changed the .htaccess. But I can only see an empty page: www.assembly21.com.

I've read the installation documents that is a list of features, with no reference to making everything into the story of publishing the website.

    Thanks.

As far as I can see in the source code: there seems to be no article module in the page layout. Have you already checked this?

    Default articles

What kind of settings do I need for this article module?

Also I think the problem is display in in the article part. I don't have any options there. I don't know how to activate this, that's a new feature of this version of Contao.

    Thanks.

No, there must also be the article module itself! See e.g. the screenshot from the Contao online demo:

I'm using the last verion of Contao. There I have: module type: article list and article navigation to choose from, no Articles in itself.

I also see that if I go to modules I've created I have top bar, logo, footer.

And if I go to layouts, I have a module called Articles included, but with the yellow pencil switched off. I don't know how this got there.

    Thanks.

Okay, then I'd say you first run the Contao check to find out whether the installation is complete and error free.

Yeah, that's how it should be. Please post a screenshot from the modules section in your page layout.

    Here are the screenshots for:

    - front end modules I've created - no Articles.

    - add module page, with no option for article in module type only article list and article navigation.

    - page layout with article included, but pencil switched off. So may be I don't have to create the article module, is there already?

    Thanks.

Exactly. You don't have to create the "Article" front end module since it's always there. And that is also the reason why the pencil icon is inactive for this kind of front end module.

Have you considered that you also need to add a few content elements (e.g. text, image, etc.) to the article?

Don't create any folder in your root. Use /files/css/style.css instead of /css/style.css. Create new folders only in /files/.
