Using another attribute of a related MM

Hi people,

I have a mm_cat for a list of categories with 2 attributes : long name ("Meeting with writer") and short name ("meeting").
I have mm_events with a select attribute Event_category linked to mm_cat:long_name / mm_cat:ID.
Is it possible to have another attribute (like alias for example) which auto selects the mm_cat:shortname corresponding to le mm_cat:longname / mm_cat:ID selected il event_category ?

So I can use long names in input screen or FE modules but automatically have short name as alias for pages.

hmm?? I´m not sure what do you mean...

can you explain your "auto selects"?

Reading it now, I'm not sure ;-)) I was exploring MM and I think I was using the ID in the select attribute (like I would if I was directly in mysql) instead of the name for example. I think I solved my problem or I now know how-to.
