What's your Contao version? What did you do before this error occurred?

The latest version of Contao 4.4 is currently 4.4.40.

Did you try clearing the cache var/cache?

What is that supposed to mean?

    I would try the following:

    • Rename composer.lock to composer.lock.bak
    • Rename the vendor/ folder to vendor_bak/
    • Purge the var/cache/prod/ cache directory
    • Run the Contao Manager
    • Mark all packages for update, confirm the selection and finally perform a complete Composer Update of all packages (make sure to use the Composer Resolver Cloud)

That's quite possible. What extensions have you installed? And how did you install them?
