if Abfrage und else Antwort?

Warum erhalte ich keine else Meldung wenn die if Abfrage nicht erfüllt ist?

   <?php if($entry['data']): ?>
    <td colspan="3"><?php echo $entry['data']['datum']['value']; ?></td>
    <td colspan="3"><?php echo $entry['data']['kunde']['value']; ?></td>
    <td colspan="3"><?php echo $entry['data']['anlass']['value']; ?></td>
    <td colspan="3"><?php echo $entry['linkEdit']; ?></td>
   <?php else: ?>
        <td colspan="3">Kein Termin vorhanden!</td>

Wird foreach an dieser Stelle durchlaufen, sprich: enthält $this->entries etwas? Was gibt $monat, was $MonatJahr aus? Ein bisschen print bzw. print_r hilft manchmal schon weiter
