Use pages as your primary category, by using the pagetree instead of taxonomy for the categories. Then you can use a navigation module as your "category" selector. You just need to place a module on the root layout (of the categories) to include a module that has a where clause that filters based on the current page, e.g. {{env:
age_id}} which is an inserttag for the current page_id and will be replaced.
The a:hover attribute works on ALL browsers (and always has) its the :hover attribute on OTHER html tags that need to be patched. As long as you stick to button "links" and menu "links" you'll be safe! I've tested this on many, many sites and browsers. I use it on all my sites, so check out my site's web area for more sites/ideas.
