NewsReader - Wrong links?

Hi,

if I validate a NewsReader page, the W3C Link Checker reports errors.

http://validator.w3.org
http://demo.contao.org/news-reader/i...n-returns.html

Status: 404 Not Found
http://demo.contao.org/news-reader/items/courses.html

The menu entry for Courses uses a relative URL
<a accesskey="3" title="Courses overview" href="courses.html">Courses</a>

The base URL for all relative URLs on the page is defined as
<base href="http://demo.contao.org/">

Any ideas on what's wrong with the links?

The W3C Linkchecker ignores the <base> tag and is therefor not able to check the links properly.

Do you really mean a bug in W3C Link Validator?

The same problem occurs for google friendly breadcrumbs with NewsReader items.

Is an absolute URL the only solution for this issue?
