kann mir vielleicht jemand sagen wo hier genau das Problem liegt. Stimmen die Abhängigkeiten nicht?

Von unserer Seite erstmal nichts, doch du wirfst hier einiges in einen Topf was getrennt betrachtet werden muss.
ER2 - Altes System, deprecated und Contao 2.X bis 3.X, schlecht gepflegt und sollte man nicht verwenden.
Composer (backend client hier gemeint) - Neueres System und flanscht Composer an Contao 3.X an. Hat einen legacy Gateway zum ER2 damit diese Erweiterungen nicht verloren gehen.
Contao Manager - Neues System Contao 4 only, verwendet nur native composer Pakete, legacy gateway entfaellt. Das moechte man haben.

Würde man das mal vernünftig kommunizieren wäre es um Welten einfacher.

Was sollen wir denn bitte besser kommunizieren was nicht schon in den ganzen blogposts, hier im Forum, in den issue trackern und sonst wo alles steht?
Wenn hier Verbesserungsbedarf besteht, dann schlage ich dir vor, da du ja nun den Yberblick hast und obendrein auch genau weisst was dir an der Dokumentation fehlt, es entsprechend aufzuschreiben und zu veroeffentlichen. Dann kommt es der Allgemeinheit zu Gute.

Die Frage stellt sich doch eigentlich nicht wirklich, oder? Der Backend client schlaegt dir ja bereits vor, dass du auf die Version des Entwicklers umstellen sollst.
Wenn dies zu ungenau ist, dann verbessere die Dokumentation, uns ist jeder Willkommen.

Dann hat der legacy Server diese Version nicht im Repertoire und man sagt dem Maintainer Bescheid, das waere dann ich.
Der Server hatte letztens nicht alle Versionen geparsed, dies ist einem User aufgefallen und er machte hierzu ein Ticket.
10 Minuten spaeter hatte ich das Problem behoben und die fehlenden Versionen waren wieder da. Wenn man mir jedoch nichts sagt merke ich dies nicht.
Ich verwende naemlich seit Jahren keine legacy Pakete mehr sondern nur die "offiziellen".

Gut, dass das mal so klar gesagt wird, denn ein nicht unwesentlicher Teil der RAM-Probleme mit Composer dürfte auch auf diese Einstellung zurückzuführen sein. Das hat allerdings damals (TM) auch noch ganz gut funktioniert, selbst mit 128MB memory_limit liess sich das große Metamodels-Bundle installieren. Heute geht das so nicht mehr, aus welchen Gründen auch immer. Die Konsequenz sollte sein, seitens der User auf stabile Pakete umzustellen und seitens der Entwickler möglichst schnell stabile Pakete anzubieten. Entwickler-Version ist für mich traditionell etwas, was ich nicht in einer produktiven Software einsetzen möchte, wenn es irgend vermeidbar ist. Zumindest nicht, ohne die Software vor dem produktiven Einsatz noch genauer zu prüfen als ohnehin immer schon notwendig. Hier allerdings war ich längere Zeit praktisch dazu gezwungen, wenn ich überhaupt irgendwas mit komplexeren Abhängigkeiten installieren wollte.

Beim ersten Versuch hat es mir Teile der Datenbank gelöscht... warum auch immer. Der zweite Versuch ist geglückt. Ich brauch einfach mehr Geduld.

Contao löscht keine Tabellen oder Felder ohne deine Zustimmung. Wenn die Contao plötzlich derartiges bei einem Datenbank Update anbietet, dann sind die jeweiligen Extensions entweder gelöscht oder deaktiviert worden.

Eine Sache habe ich aber noch nicht verstanden. Ich habe jetzt die contao-legacy Pakete auf die Entwickler Pakete umgestellt.
Nun habe ich alle terminal42/* Pakete in der Paketverwaltung gelistet. Kann ich die Pakete nicht löschen?
Wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe bringt isotope/isotope-core ja schon alle Pakete mit die es braucht.

Das calendar-bundle kommt ja von Contao selbst (Managed Edition), was hab ich falsch gemacht/konfiguriert?

Jetzt stolpere ich bei einer Extension, contaoacademy/contao-videohandbuch, über folgende Fehlermeldung:

Diese Extension ist nicht für Contao 4 freigegeben, daher kann sie auch auf diesem Weg nicht installiert werden. Da diese Extension jedoch keinerlei komplexe Abhängigkeiten hat, kannst du dir sie einfach runterladen und manuell in den /system/modules Ordner geben (also /system/modules/contao_academy_client).

Das Problem ist das:

 contaoacademy/contao-videohandbuch 1.0 requires contao/core >=3.2,<4

Nun versucht Composer das zu lösen, in dem der auf Contao 3.x runtergehen will, aber das kann er nicht wegen:

contao/calendar-bundle (locked at 4.3.7, required as ^4.3)

Ergo bricht er ab.
