Bootstrap // Contao 4.4

Hallo,
ich habe gerade Contao 4.4. zum laufen bekommen und soweit ganz nett.
Nun versuche ich die Bootstrap Erweiterung zu installieren, allerdings scheitere ich.

Kann mir jemand erklären, was das generelle Problem ist?
Ist das Bootstrap Paket nicht kompatible (Your requirements could not be resolved to an installable set of packages.)?

Wenn ich den Konflikt löse, in dem ich "calendar-bundle" deinstalliere, dann kommt das
nächste Modul/Bundle.

Verstehe leider nicht ganz das Problem und daher finde ich auch keine Lösung.

Danke für den Hinweis, dann bleibe ich lieber bei 3.5er

Nachdem die 3er lange nicht funktionierte und nun läuft, läuft es wohl gerade wie damals mit der Umstellung von der 2er auf die 3er.
Für mein Gefühl wird zwar alles Mögliche integriert/programmiert (Respekt dafür), aber die Hälfte läuft dann erst einmal nicht und wir sind schon bei 4.4.

Es haben, unter anderem ich, viele Entwickler gewartet bis der Contao Manager da ist, um gleich für diesen kompatibel zu werden.

Das ist aus Contao 3 Sicht kein normaler Versionssprung sondern ein Major Release Update, wo eine Abwärtskompatibilität nicht gesichert ist. (Stichwort: Semantische Versionierung)
Aus diesem Grund gibt man als Entwickler nicht einfach an, das die Erweiterung für alle Zeiten in der Zukunft freigegeben ist.
Dann würde in dem Fall wieder jeder meckern weil die Erweiterung sich zwar installieren lässt, aber nicht funktioniert.

Und ja, wenn die 5 kommt, dann knallt es nochmal, da dann die Contao 3 Abwärtskompatibilität, derzeit ca. 90% (meine Meinung), komplett weg fällt.
Aber das ist noch lange hin und spätestens nach der zweiten LTS von Contao 4 sollten die Entwickler sich ran machen das für 5 kompatibel zu machen, wenn nicht bereits jetzt oder während dessen geschehen.

Wenn du auf Nummer sicher gehen willst, dann nur LTS Versionen nutzen. Das wird nicht die 5.0 sein!

Und, wer Software einsetzt mit einer oder sogar zweimal 0 in der Versionsnummer ist selber schuld. Meine Erfahrung in der Softwarewelt, besonders außerhalb von Contao.

Wie an einigen Stellen kommuniziert, verfolge ich mit der Bootstrap-Erweiterung die Philosophie die aktuellen LTS Versionen von Contao zu unterstützen. Daher wurde vor Contao 4.4 nicht damit angefangen die Unterstützung herzustellen.

Da inzwischen Contao 4.4, damit verbunden die Managed Edition und der Contao Manager veröffentlicht sind, wird demnächst eine Anpassung der Bootstrap Extension für Contao 4.4 erfolgen. Dabei ist die Bootstrap Erweiterung weniger das Problem, sondern dessen Abhängigkeiten von anderen Extensions. Ich hoffe im Juli/August die Entwicklung hier voranzutreiben.

Alle Entwickler hier machen eine sehr gute Arbeit das ist schonmal fakt.

Wo finde ich auf Github den Branch von Contao-Bootstrap für die 4.4

Würde das gerne testen und Fehler melden. Weil ich auch sehnsüchtig darauf warte.

Ich denke mal so einen großen Schritt wie von 2 auf 3 auf 4 mit den Problemen der Erweiterungen wird so schnell nicht mehr kommen. Mit Composer usw sind ja nun feste "Schnittstellen" da und wenn die alle richtig nutzen sollten wir nun wesentlich ruhigeren Zeiten entgegenfahren.

Wenn du per composer oder mit dem Contao Manager die Version "2.0.x-dev" anforderst oder "dev-contao4", dannn bekommst du die Contao 4 Version.

Das bundle ist "nur" ein Liste von Abhängigkeiten, damit werden also gleich alle Pakete installiert:
