Sehr geehrte Community

Gerade wollte ich anfangen mich mit Contao zu beschäftigen, da ich überlege von TYPO3 umzusteigen.
Nach zahlreicher Schwierigkeiten mit dem Download (der Mirror scheint bei mir irgendwie nicht zu funktionieren) habe ich es nun endlich geschafft das CMS überhaupt runterzuladen.
Jetzt habe ich es auf meinem Webspace hochgeladen, wollte es installieren, und bekam die Meldung, ich soll doch das Document Root ändern.
Ich fand es ziemlich nervig, dass ich das nicht selber entscheiden kann und ich gezwungen wurden, das Root-Verzeichnis zu ändern.
Wieso gibt es da keine Entscheidungsmöglichkeit?
Naja wie dem auch sei, jetzt bereits ziemlich genervt von Contao, habe ich das Root-Verzeichnis eingerichtet.
Ich rufe die Seite nun erneut auf, und die nächste Fehlermeldung spaziert mir auf den Webserver.
Ich habe leider keine Erklärung für das Problem und suche daher nach einer Lösung.
Hat jemand schon ähnliche Erfahrungen mit Contao?
Habe ich evtl. was falsch gemacht?
Wäre sehr dankbar für jede Hilfestellung.

Wo kann ich denn die Datenbank-Einstellungen festlegen?
Dachte das passiert während der Installation.
Versuche es jetzt mal in der angegebenen Datei.

Habe in der PDOConnection.php versucht die Datenbankzugangsdaten manuell einzutragen.
Leider ohne Erfolg.

Laut Internet-Tutorial passiert das wie bei jedem anderen CMS während der Installation. Ich vermute den Fehler also wo anders.

Die Datenbank erstellst Du im KAS. Die Contao-Installation erfolgt dann im Contao Installtool (http://vatersta.at/contao/install); dort trägst Du dann die Zugangsdaten zur betreffenden Datenbank ein.

Und die Änderungen in der PDOConnection.php nimmst Du bitte wieder zurück.

Ich habe der Dokumentation entnommen, das Root-Verzeichnis werde zum Installieren verwendet.
Ich dachte, die Seite die erscheint, wenn ich das Root-Verzeichnis aufrufe sei das Installationspanel.
War einfach ein dummes Missverständnis.
Ich möchte mich nochmal herzlich bedanken für die einerseits schnelle Reaktionszeit und vor allem auch die gute Hilfestellung und ich finde es toll, dass es für Contao auch so eine starke Community gibt.
