    Standard Site stopped working

    Hi all,

    my site run on 2.9.x stopped working a few days ago. Probably something was updated on the server end, e.g. MySQL version, PHP version, whatsoever.
    Any hint what I should look for or what I could manually update to help?

    I receive following error:




    An error occurred while executing this script!
    1.If you are a Contao user, contact the administrator of your website.
    2.Open file system/logs/error.log and search for a corresponding entry.
    3.Open file system/config/localconfig.php and add the following line:$GLOBALS['TL_CONFIG']['displayErrors'] = true;

    4.Read the Contao FAQs or visit the Contao support page.

    To customize this notice, create a custom template file named templates/be_error.tpl.

    And do you have done these 4 points in the errror screen?
    What are the results for point 2 and 3?

    1. Open file system/logs/error.log and search for a corresponding entry.
    2. Run the Contao Check tool for Cto. 2.9.

    It doesn't seem to connect to the database...

    Run Contao Check for 2.9.

    On example, maybe the localconfig.php is corrupt.

    This is strange. Localconfig is a very small file either on my install or in version 2.9. version 3.x file is much bigger. there is a config.php file though on 2.9.5. all the db-information-lines were blank. i've manually added the information. and now it seems to work. i haven't thouched this file in years. its latest change data was from back in 2011. the page ran perfectly since then. now it seems to run again....

    You might missing space on your webspace.

    Contao cant write data back and so it keeps the File blank.

    Check with your provider. If you use a shared hosting it not even has to bee your hosting plan who run out of space.

    If it is running again, someone made order on the Server.

    You definitely have done wrong since config.php is a system file you should never touch. All the settings have to be done at localconfig.php, which overrules the presets intentionally left blank in config.php.

    So, put your settings into the appropriate file, please. You may do so by calling http://{yourdomain}/contao/install.php, or simply take an editor (which should be able to write UTF-8 coded text files).

    After that, I suggest that you check a) the avialable web space and b) your installation by uploading and calling the Contao check tool. So, if there are some files rotten you will be able to replace tehm.

    Ok. In this case that'll make your day.

    Otherwise it´s strongly recommmended to run the Contao Check for Contao 2.9.x. For example sometimes (seldom) it happens that the Contao Cron overwrites the /system/config/localconfig.php. This file stores also the entries for database access. If the Contao Check shows this error, download the same Contao Version 2.9.x, copy the origin localconfig.php, restore the database access entries and move it to your webspace path /system/config/.

    The Contao check displays "Your Installation is up to date" if no errors was found.
