    Default Create free template

    Hi
what is the best way to create a template and export it?

I would like to create a free template.
On the package i will put the tl_file folder, the template folder and the sql file.

I will export all the db or is better not export the user and the groups?!

I have also used the extension BackupDB, but this extension i think is not the ideal solution to create a distributable template.

On the Inetrobots web site, in the template page, i read :
"import the template into an existing TYPOlight website without losing any data."

    Thanks

I am about to release an import / export tool for TYPOlight webCMS you can look at http://imex.zedseries.com/how-imex-works.html for a brief description. The same logic is applied to every other contents.

    Look at the attachments:

tl_page is here: http://i43.tinypic.com/zwiwyg.png because is too wide to be uploaded.

    - tl_layout is an export of Blue Freedom layout from oswd.org it contains even the module included in the layout
    - tl_page is an entire website (a minimal blog system)

the green lines are parent / child relations.
the blue lines are foreign key relation.
the red lines are package requirements.

I am working hard to complete the extension and I hope that a screencast will be put online ASAP.

As you can read on the website the ImEx beta phase will start on 1st July and will be limited to 50 users, so I suggest you to subscribe to newsletter for getting notified when the registration will be opened.

    hi Acenes
thanks for the replay, but i think that this is not the best way to create template to distribuite.
This extension export user and groups. Is correct export this table to create a template?

    Hi Paolo,

I had create a simple blog template and I exported tl_user_group because I used it, and tl_user because you need at least an admin for accessing the backend

But on the Inetrobots web site, in the template page, i read :

In this case I think you can create an sql file, for the layout, that you can import without truncate.
    you need to export only tl_layout, tl_module, tl_style, tl_style_sheet (maybe I forget something, I haven't try :| )

    Hi everyone.
I'm new in typolight. Recently i saw some websites created in typolight and i was wondering. Is there any template already created just to be imported and work on them.
If yes , can someone walk me through this ? I could really need some help.
    Thanks

Hi Milotin! you can find an example template in the same typolight install.
When you run the instalation of TYPOlight you can see a section called "Import a template", You just select the example_template.sql from the selection combo and press import template.
With these your are going to install the demo website that you can see in the typolight.org site. Its a great template for start, not only its integrate the design, instead content some text, events, users, news, search, accordion and many others functions.

yes, you just come back to the install page, and import the example template. The only thing you have to be careful its that the new template it's gonna overwrite all the content that you have done at the moment.
