Hello,
what is the current status of the workflow extension for typolight?
Olaf
Stefan is abroad for two weeks to work on a project.
He'll be back soon, but I guess as this extension must be one of the most sophisticated ever, we need to be very patient
Any news on this module?

For those interested: a first snapshot:
[attachment=0:1wt4zvf6]Reports overview - Flexi Flow-3.jpg[/attachment:1wt4zvf6]
Some facts:
Name of the module: flexiflow
Library used: jsPlumb
Description:
You will be able to define processes. => Every process will have tasks => Per task you will define the possible statuses => Per status you will define the actions. Per TASK you are able to define forms + fields.
The actions can be: Go to task x in the process, stop process, change color of task/process, send email using templates.
Per tasks you wil be able to define if it is manually updated or updated by an external provider (= an other field in a table inside the database (can be an imported xls file))
The tasks can only be closed if the attached forms are filed in (can be some text fields, but also for example a file which need to be attached).
The process view like in snapshot can be graphically adapted by moving the tasks.
A reporting module is also foreseen where admin can create reports with filters on the workflow.
The above functionality is already working. The part left is to debug everything and show to client. (next week)
Then I will release the first beta.

Frederick

I have actually been working on something similar, but wondering if they fit the same bill or are different.
A sample use case may be as follows, any specified user may submit new content or modify tl_content but if it falls within a workflow rule then it is added to the moderation queue.
Concepts overview
A rule provides definitions of workflows for moderating content. Rules comprise of the Rule Type, Conditions for triggering and definition of moderators.
The queue is a list of content awaiting approval by moderators with details of the content to be approved and a timeline of actions.
Actions detail the history of a queue element in the timeline widget and can be either a creation, decision or messages.
Content may be approved or rejected, it is the job of moderators to either approve or rejected with good reason. Communication mechanisms via the timeline are provided for a moderator to discuss the request with the creator prior to reaching a decision.
Screenshots
Screenshots can be found of the queue table can be found here.
Work so far
So far I've done an alpha getting the module to work with FE content where a module author can incorporate the approval workflow functions into their module. I've also been running integration tests to have it apply to any BE table without any developer intervention.
