    Default Newsletter auto activation

    In earlier versions of TL the newsletter subscribtions were activated automatically, while in 2.7.1 I am now working with the user has to manually activate the address by clicking a link in the email.

    Basically, I want auto activation back as I can only see disadvantages with manual activation. Where can I make a change to have addresses active as soon as they are submitted?

    Newsletter subscriptions have been using double opt-in ever since and were never activated automatically!

    Ahhm, right. Seems I got that wrong. Apologies.

    In any case, is there a way to automatically activate addresses?

    No. And you would be facing serious legal issues if you didn't use double opt-in (at least here in Germany).
