image galleries and files binding - bug?

Hello guys,

I'm still experimenting with typolight, building a website with it on my local computer

i've noticed that image galleries seem to use filenames to bind images to content, hence when you rename an image from withing the file manager the binding with the image gallery is lost

I don't know if there's a db of uploaded files or it's implemented as a listing of files in the folder: in case there's a db behind files management I think it would be better to bind images to image galleries via IDs and not filenames to avoid such problems

maybe this is not the right place to submit bugs / enhancements... sorry in this case...

That's been one of the shortcomings with TL until now, I guess. I've also seen a few editors just re-naming or moving files and folders, and then all the links break.

Hi JTO,

this was mentioned in a ticket, no solution at the moment.

Best practice atm is to define a fine granulated folder structure.
