Managing thumbnails size for images files

Hi Thyon,

In the same field of the same catalog, I have images files that have either width greater than height (landscape), or the opposite (portrait).

I want the thumbnails to have roughly the same size, so I would like to set a maximum dimension that would apply to the width OR the height, depending on which is the bigger; another option would be to use a ratio to calculate the thumbnail dimension from the original picture size.

Is there a simple way to do this?

I've already done this code in the Gallery Module, e.g. [ x ] Auto-rotate images, so its a question of snapping it out of there, but there are more places in the catalog to update, so its not as simple.
