    Default Subdomain/Subdirectory help

    Hey guys,

I have created a subdomain using my hosting admin.

How do you make Typolight redirect to a subdomain?

How do you make subdirectories even?

I took a look at the other forum post, but this does not really answer the question to this post does it?

I am wondering the same thing. I always used to place the clients developping site in a folder on my domain.
    for instance www.pukt.nl/client

    in the localconfig file you add the line: $GLOBALS['TL_CONFIG']['websitePath'] = '/client';

    easy does it.

But now i have created a subdomain client.
How do i point the site to this subdomain? If i leave /client in the localconfig it just goes to www.pukt.nl/client
If i type www.client.pukt.nl it says this 'this is a placeholder for the subdomain www.client.pukt.nl'

Do i need to do it via a redirect?

    I am a bit confused.....

    Maybe someone can help me

I guess I'm a little confused. What do you mean by sub-domain client?
Do you mean you are hosting multiple domains under your main domain?

    Example #1:
    > main-domain.com
    --- sub-domain1.com
    --- sub-domain2.com
    --- sub-domain3.com

Or do you mean you just created a sub-directory?

    Example #2:
    > main-domain.com
    --- apples
    --- bananas
    --- cookies

In this case, you would get to those by going to either:
    http://apples.main-domain.com OR http://main-domain.com/apples

I guess in any case, unless you are trying to use one TL installation with multiple domains, each sub-domain or sub-directory should have it's own TL installation. It should go in the "root" of your domain/directory. I'm sure you already know that but sometimes these things will just slip our minds :P
