TL extension updates

I am using a few TL Extension for a particular site. Now, on my localhost, I can easily update the extensions from the extension manager on my localhost and everything works fine, but on my live server, when I click "continue" (with exactly the same site) on the "Install/update extension" page, I get a blank page.

Does anybody know what's causing this?

Enable showing errors in the TL settings, then try again and post any error message appearing. Please check /system/logs/error.log, too.

Thank you for your reply. I did as you suggested and got the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function hash_file() in
/data/vhost/my-web-site.com/public_html/system/modules/rep_client/RepositoryManager.php on line 562

Uhm. Dunno. What TL version do you use? Did you try updating / re-copying /system/modules/rep_base/ and rep_client/? Are both Repository Base and Repository Client extensions activated in the backend settings?

Thank you. What I did now was do all the updates on my localhost and move that to the live server. However, that was quite cumbersome. Next time there are updates, I'll follow the suggestions you listed.

Based on the error message ("Call to undefined function hash_file...") it sounds like not all files made it onto the server, especially if it worked on your local server.
