Default 2x news archive menu in the same article

For my site I am trying to create a landing page with a left side nav that allows users to browse both
    1. news archive
    2. blog archive

however the issue I am having now is that (although I made totally separate modules for each menu, list, archive and reader) when I click on the year 2009 for news archive it will also make the link of the blog archive 2009 active (which means I cannot click on it anymore).

Is there a workaround on this issue? I noticed that if I chose for example to put the news archive menu on "year" as archive format and the blog archive menu with "month" as archive format it does not conflict... but I rather find a better solution.

    bug example here: http://petralian.dyndns.org/petralian61 ... /news.html

    Thanks! :geek:

This does seem odd, how 2009 get selected for both 'news' and 'blog' even when it is only displaying the results for 2009 on one category of the other. The easy answer is to combine the archives into a single category of 'archives' instead of two categories. You should submit this to Leo, as it does look like a bug though: http://dev.typolight.org
