Passing GET aruments

Hi I would like to fill in some of the form fields depending on which page the customer came from

I have managed to send get arguments to the form page i.e. product-request-form.html?product=testproduct

but how do I retrive the GET argument and put it in the default value field??

It should be available as a tag but there doesn't seem to be custom tags e.g. {{get:roduct}}
