Menu and SubMenu

Hi to all.
I have a question for you.
In my site i have a main menu and sub menu, one header (horizontal) and one in a left column (vertical).

first main menu item
second main menu item
--> first sub menu item
--> second sub menu item
third main menu item

i create two modules "menu navigation", one for the main menu (with start level 0 and stop level 1) and one for sub menu (with start level1 and stop level 2). All works fine, but when i visit the first sub menu page all main menu items are inactive.

There is a way to maintain active the main menu item when i visit the page in the sub menu item?

I hope that my question is clear.

None of the main menu items should be active,as their not active :-)

But the parent of the sub-menu will have a class of "trail" that you can style separately.
