News menu works with news_short but doesn´t with news_full

Hi

In a typolight 2.7.5.

I´ve got 4 news december 2009, and 1 february 2010. Total 5.

I´ve installed news menu and works ok with news_short, BUT NO with news_full that, if I click in december 2009 or febraury 2010 always show 5 news ...

Any help please.

What do you mean by "News menu"? Are you talking about the news archive menu module? Can you give us the links to see what you're talking about?

Yes, im talking about the news archive menu module.
I can´t show you with both modules (news_short and news_full) because web page is already online.

If I use news_short, news archive menu module works fine... shows news of each month correctly
but

you´ve got 5 news:
1 of febrero 2010
4 of diciembre 2009

if you clic in febrero 2010, still show 5 news... same with diciembre 2009

Oh - I know the answer to what you're talking about. You have to use "News archive" module on the pages that should filter by month. I usually set up my news sections like this:

-> Home - Newslist module to display headlines (news_simple.tpl)
-> News - Newslist module (news_short.tpl) & News archive menu (in sidebar)
------> Reader - News reader module & News archive menu (in sidebar)
------> Archives - News archive module (news_short.tpl) & News archive menu (in sidebar)

The reference page for the News archive menu needs to be the Archives page. This should hopefully get you on the right track. You can see this in action at http://www.whitakeroil.com/news.html

Thanks Ben I was just looking for examples of News setups yesterday. I've got a potential project with 5 separate news archives (company, PR, etc etc.) that should be kept separated from each other, but still under a general "News" section. Would you recommend setting up something like:

- Home (single newslist including all archives)
- News (same as home, or individual newslists for each news archive - still TBD)
  - Company News
    - Reader
    - Archive
  - Press Releases
    - Reader
    - Archive
  - etc...

Mark - it does work best as you've listed. Especially if the archives should be only for one category. You only need one news reader module, but if you want the subnav to work properly then you'll want to have a reader subpage for each category. All in all, what you've said is what I would do.

I have another work-in-progress site with news at http://174.120.179.34/~commissi/info-rader-updates.html. This is category one. "County News" from the right column is a second news category. I set this up just as you mentioned.
