Default 2 questions on "Custom layout sections"

Hi everyone, i'm new, totally new to typolight.

A friend was asking if we could use it for his new Homepage.

When i read the term "Custom layout" i became quite interested.
I searched the forum, the faq and the typolight Website for an introduction,
a manual or something but could not find anythik. There are posts in
the forum dealing with the topic but i cannot find it explained anywhere.
Did i oversee it? Thanks to anyone for a hint to the right document.

And, is it like being able to generate custom elements the backend user
afterwards can chose form and then fill them with his/her own input or
are they rather just something as static includes?

    Thanks a lot, Frank

Actually that is not what it is for. Custom layout sections are parts that can be used inside templates and filled with modules, articles and whateer can be placed inside layout sections. They are basically like the default head, left, main, right and footer sections, but self made.

What you want can also be doe because you can make pre defines html templates that go into the /templates/tiny_templates folder (name might be slightly different). You can insert those into each text content element. I use them to supply the customer with predefined pieces of text, tbles and whatever they probably wouldn't be able to create themselves.

You'll find TL very versatile and very well made. It is probably right for you.
