Install Error

Hi all,

I am trying to install Contao for the first time. I am following these instructions:

So I downloaded the .zip file, and unpacked the contents to my htdocs folder in MAMP.

I then proceed to localhost/contao/install.php

But, I get an error message saying:

The requested URL /contao/install.php was not found on this server.

Any tips on what I may have missed would be very appreciated.

Before version 2.9, the back end URL is "/typolight/install.php".

Oh thank you, unfortunately now I have a new problem.

The install tool is not accepting the "contao" password?

Hi, I have the same issu. I use v. 2.8.3 and MAMP on the Mac.

I installed the TL in a folder named contao. Hence this local installation wil have the following location in the file structure:

/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/contao/

Upon entering "http://localhost:8888/contao/typolight/install.php" in the browser will result in no action.

I tried editing the .htaccess file, like:

RewriteBase /contao/

or RewriteBase /contao/typolight/

None of these helped.
