[contao-unzip.php] Contao Unzip script

Hi

I've developed a script (using some contao files and libraries to get it working), to run on your server and it will uncompress the contao ZIP archive. On many servers you cannot have logon access, or they don't have a file manager, so you can't actually unzip the contao bundle.

What would be nice later when I have more time, is to add downloading it to the server as well (like a liveupdate). Then you just run this script on your server, and it unzips and optionally runs the install script if successful.

Contao Unzip Script (zipped)

Download the script, unzip it[/*:m:38f1tlv8]
Upload the script to your server's root[/*:m:38f1tlv8]
Place the contao-xxx.zip file onto the server's root as well[/*:m:38f1tlv8]
rename the contao-xxx.zip to contao.zip[/*:m:38f1tlv8]
Run the contao-unzip.php script[/*:m:38f1tlv8]
Move the files inside the contao-xxx/ folder back into the root[/*:m:38f1tlv8]
Delete the contao-xxx/ folder (now empty) and delete contao-unzip.php[/*:m:38f1tlv8]
Run contao-check.php (optional, download from contao.org main website)[/*:m:38f1tlv8]

I'm using this script now all the time... It's so much easier than having to login to a control panel to unzip files.... I've asked leo to incorporate it possibly into the collection of utilities. In fact providing a direct download to the domain would be ultra helpful...

Just used it for a new install ... perfect.
All done in about a tenth the time as normal :D
Would have been faster but it took a bit to figure moving folders in Filezilla (i wish Contao didn't unpack into a contao folder)...and then I checked everything using the wrong system-check tool.
So next time I figure a twentieth of the time.

Actually, you can use it to unzip anything (as long as you call it contao.zip) :lol:

Perhaps add the option to move inside that first folder and unzip root files into the root? That would eliminate some steps. Is that possible?

I think its the way Contao itself is zipped (the contao files are put into a "contao2-9-3" folder).
If they were zipped without this it would all unpack into root (or whatever folder you put it in) correctly.
