All mandatory fields on a form, must be visible and must contain a value. Why would you ever make an invisible field? Use a hidden field and then you can't make it mandatory anyway, since you're responsible to complete the field value.
I know it's a strange use case, but the admin interface allows you to make mandatory fields invisible, and this triggers a nasty error when a user tries to submit a form.
Just uncheck mandatory, then make it invisible, then you won't get the error... That's a Contao bug, because Hidden fields should not be selectable as mandatory anyways...
