Default Install contao on localhost without FTP-Access

    Hi,

I am a newbie to contao and this forum. Thanks for your replies.

I am trying to install contao on my localhost (ubuntu 10 with PHP 5.3.3 and MySQL 5.1) and stuck already with the first screen of the install tool http://localhost/contao/contao/install.php "Please enter your FTP login details so Contao can modify files via FTP (Safe Mode Hack)."

Of course, I don't run any FTP on localhost and AFAIK, save_mode is obsolete with PHP 5.3 anyway, so no hack is needed. Any idea how to pass this screen with the install tool? Any chance to get contao installed using the install script or should I better adapt the config file manually?

    Thanks and regards
    Marco

I had the same problem. I've solved it by changing the file permission on root folder. After that, the installation tool let me further without asking for the FTP accounts details.
