File Downloads in Catalog - Open PDF in window

I am trying to figure out how to change the behavior of the file links in the fe for PDF files in the Catalog reader module so that they open in the browser window (via acrobat). Can someone help me with this? I'd even be willing to pay to have it done...

The way Acrobat works is heavily dependent on the Machine/Browser that it's installed on. Assuming that the Acrobat browser extension is installed and working, having your PDF file link open in a new window (target="_blank") would normally get you what your looking for. In your template, it would look something like this:

PDF LINK

Since there isn't an option in the BE to tell the File Type field to open in a new window, that I believe is your best option.


But like I said, if the Acrobat plugin isn't installed or it's disabled, it will simply prompt for the file download as before.
