    Default Setting up News

I am having problems setting up a news. I have tried to follow this link, but can't seem to get it to work correctly.
    http://www.contao.org/forum/topic/325.html

I ended up getting the news article to display on the news list page, but when I click on the article teaser, I get a "Page not found" error. It's so close to working, but I'm just not quite there. It is probably something very simple, but I just can't get it. I've been banging my head against the wall for over 3 hours now trying to get it to work.

My Newsreader module is an element in the hidden page in my site structure.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

This is an old video tutorial about the news-module but maybe it helps.

Basically make sure, you configured these things:

You need two pages: One page for the "news list" and one page for the "news details".
Click on "News" and create a news-archive. In the settings of the news-archive select the news details-page.

Click on "Layout > Themes" and create two new modules.
Module A is a module type "news list". Don't forget to click on the created news-archive name in the settings of that module.
Module B is a module type "news details". Don't forget to click on the created news-archive name in the settings of that module.

Add module A to the "news list" page.
Add module B to the "news details" page.

Create your first news. It should work now.

If it's still not working, please post screen shots of your settings.

..or better if it's your sites main news page you're about to do, then you'll create the news reader and then create the news archive and then in this news archive choose the news reader you just made before, that way both is combined and you'll only need to create a single page for news and makes all more sense ..you should still be able to use the news list with this setup - hope it helps
    Cheers!
