How to open a URL in a lightbox?

Hi,
I'd like a webpage to open automatically inside my lightbox window when it opens.
Previously I've used a href with on click which then opens a new window, but this time I need it to open without someone pressing a link, and in the same lightbox window - how would I do this?

(The context: User clicks thumbnail in main website which opens a lightbox window that displays an article, usually made up of text and images. This time when they click the thumbnail I want the lightbox to open and display an external website)

Worked it out!
I was trying to put the code into a page that my thumbnail was linking to, instead of just putting the URL directly into my thumbnail i.e. using External site (in a lightbox)

Easy when you know how!

I am looking to do the same thing and am not having any success. I was wondering if you could offer more detailed steps to follow.
