Building a small social network- artist profile pages?

Is there any automated way/extension app of being able to set up individual 'profile' pages when a member signs up on your website?. At the moment when someone signs up to my page I have them directed to a group member page... but Ideally i would like each member to have their own showcase or profile page.
Is there any other way than creating each member page manually?

Don't know of anything out there that can do this already but it's possible using the activateAccount hook.

This hook is called every time a front end user is activated. If you wrote some code that created a profile page for a new member you could automatically run it whenever a new member was activated using the hook.

i don't know what u exactly mean.. but try out xtmembers and xtmembers_fieldeditor.
Both are handy for making much bigger Member-Pages ;-)
