In order to make an online course, I need a treeview such as the one used at http://www.contao.org/en/users-guide.html
What's the best way to do this?
Do I have to create every page in the site structure or is there a better way? Which modules do I need? One of the features is to go back and forward.

How do you plan on creating/entering the content for your online course (if you don't want to create every page in the site structure)? Some other module/extension?

The user guide does it via pages and a navigation module. You can use start/stop/reference page options to reproduce it.

For back/forward, there's a Book Navigation module that does this (for pages).
