I've never done any of this so I just have theories about what you can do. I presume you have tried creating a template already via the standard method in 'Templates'>New templates pick mod_comment >save>edit? If so, it seems like your options are either:

    1. Put your custom code into the news reader template (and hope it works), similar to this thread talking about facebook comments code viewtopic.php?f=21&t=6033

    or

    2. You disable the comment module and make a new custom extension based on it viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5997

If you have edited the ce_comment or mod_comment_form in 'Templates' (without changing the file names) and do not see any changes, then it has not worked. Templates you copy and create should override the core default files.

    I've done these steps.

Create a new template from the templates of the core and bring it to the folder of my theme without changing the name.

Does not work, does not replace the core theme.

I have also placed my theme modified folder /templates and neither works. It overwrites the core.

I imagine that somewhere you must select the theme changed.
